The A-bomb. Was it necessary?

I made this video in response to many on You Tube whom claimed the atomic bombing of Japan was necessary to end the war and save millions of lives. They claim the Japanese would never surrender.
Yet historical facts and the writings and quotes from important political and military personal at the time state the opposite.

We have to remember that those that died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were mostly women and children. It is also important to note, that, unlike what a lot of people claim, the Japanese are not using the commemoration of the A-bombing of Japan to say 'Look at us! we are the real victims of the war, feel sorry for us' No, they are mealy remembering those that died and are praying that such a thing will never happen again.

Japan refuses to take up nuclear arms and strives for peace. There are many countries that can learn from that.
